Jesse is detail oriented when teaching technique in a way that is encouraging rather than critical. She listens when my daughter has a question and explains things clearly. She also discusses the feeling of a piece of music, so my daughter thinks about the emotion a song conveys. Jesse is very organized with her lesson plans, keeping progress at a good pace. She motivates my daughter, so she practices regularly without being reminded. “Ms. Jesse is an excellent piano teacher. She has worked well with our daughters who started with her at the age of 4. She is very patient and calm. She uses age appropriate materials and adapts homework for each of their skill levels. She also gives extra instructions with electronic applications. Homework is given via email with daily track charts. Every year we have had great opportunities to participate in a piano recital at the Steinway Gallery and she offers rehearsals before recitals with all her students to give peer to peer constructive criticism and be comfortable with playing in front of an audience. Overall, the kids have enjoyed it and have had fun playing the piano with Ms. Jessen. We’re very grateful for her.”
